Does this tool upload my files?
No. Processing happens in your browser; closing the page clears the working session.
Will the output always match the source exactly?
This is lossy raster compression: selectable text, links, forms, annotations, signatures, and layers become pixels. Some PDFs may become larger.
Concrete input and output example
Input a 12MB scanned PDF and choose a moderate compression setting. Compare the new size and zoomed scan text; image-heavy PDFs may shrink substantially, while compact vector PDFs may change very little.

Reviewed against the implementation and required web APIs on 2026-08-12. Use a current browser where these APIs are available and verify important output on your device.

- Uses the local PDF workflow; always verify the generated download in its destination viewer.

A tool-specific question
Why did my PDF barely shrink?
Text/vector documents and already-compressed images may have little redundant data. Recompression cannot promise a target size without potentially severe visual loss.
