How local processing works
The browser reads the original JPEG, PNG, AVIF, or HEIC bytes with the existing metadata parser, normalizes only approved printable fields, groups GPS separately, and can export the displayed data as safe JSON.
How to use it
- Prepare View image metadata: Work from a copy and confirm the genuine file signature, the 64 MiB input limit, readable allowlisted fields, dates and orientation, and whether GPS should be deliberately revealed or included in JSON. Keep the source unchanged.
- Apply View image metadata: Process locally in the browser. The browser reads the original JPEG, PNG, AVIF, or HEIC bytes with the existing metadata parser, normalizes only approved printable fields, groups GPS separately, and can export the displayed data as safe JSON.
- Download and verify: Save under a new name. Compare important displayed values with the camera record or a trusted desktop inspector, keep GPS hidden when it is unnecessary, and remember that the source file is never rewritten.

This is read-only and not a complete metadata inventory: unsupported or malformed fields, maker notes, embedded profiles, XMP, IPTC, and container-specific data may be omitted; revealing GPS can expose a precise location.
