Prepare a lightweight web image

Starting parameters

The existing workbench starts at maximum 1920 × 1080 pixels and quality 80. It fits inside that box without enlargement; these are maximum dimensions, not a forced crop.

Processing steps

1. Choose your image or the synthetic geometric sample. Inspect its orientation and decide how large it will appear on the page.
2. Adjust maximum width, height and quality. Run the WebP recipe to resize, encode and discard original metadata.
3. Compare the output with the original at its intended display size. Download and test it in the website's actual layout.

Check the result

Check WebP format, aspect ratio, dimensions, file size and fine text or edges. Smaller dimensions and higher compression can change appearance.

Limits and losses

Savings depend on the input. Encoding is not lossless and removes original metadata and color-profile information. Do not use the result as an archival master.

Local processing

Files and outputs stay in this browser; originals are not overwritten. Samples contain invented data. Download results before clearing or leaving. OCR downloads its recognition model, not your document.
